time lapse tuesday: the tree outside my window ...

These shots are of the tree outside the window at the top of the stairs - the first thing you see when you get to the second floor. It's a view that makes me happy - I just love this sweet old crabapple tree - perhaps it's because its shape and age remind me of The Giving Tree that it gives me great comfort to see it there. Wish I could say it's ours but despite how close it is to our window, it's actually our neighbor's tree and yard that you see. Since we have no backyard of our own, the rear of our house abuts this neighbor's enormous backyard sideways (so their house is out of these pictures to the far right, not the house you see in the background). In any case, we were fortunate enough that the neighbors decided to keep this wonderful tree in spite of some massive landscape demolition clearing overhauling they did last summer to make way for a huge wedding tent last October. What a sigh of relief that this old guy was one of the few originals that got to stay ...

LOVE those time lapse pictures. How pretty and fun! It's so amazing how seasons change things so much. I love that you captured the beauty in each season....

Just the cover of the book makes me happy! So cool that you captured your (neighbors!) tree in it's different seasons.

That is one of the best books of all time. And you're lucky you have one in your view (not exactly yard).

The Giving Tree is the saddest book of all time. It truly breaks my heart. Boy sucks. Even when he's old and needy. If I were the Tree I would have given his saggy old a** a splinter.

Sorry. Did I just ruin a moment?

I remember trying to hold back the tears in class to get through that one and Love You Forever!!! Brought back some memories there.
What a beautiful vision to see each day...that would make me happy too.
Enjoy the night

Oh, that book makes me so sad, but I still love it.

BTW, I saw Blue Valentine last week and Ryan Gosling's character had a giving tree tattoo. I thought it was interesting!

OH SLOAN! Thank you for your comment! I didn't feel nervous... I was ready for the show. I started talking and froze! UGH! I thought I did an awful job! I was stammering and repeating myself! OHH how embarrasing! I even ended the show early!
Oh boy!

That tree looks pretty in every season. And yes, the controversial Giving Tree. I have to say I do love it though. I'm a sap. Anything about love like that makes me cry!
