how i plan to spend my wednesday ...

It was totally expected, but I got the official call at dinnertime tonight that school is cancelled tomorrow ... along with 571 577 588 other local closings being reported on the news as I type. The headline on boston.com right now is "Blizzard Warning Issued as School Cancellations Grow" and the governor has told all state employees to stay home ...

As you can see on the map, up to 16 inches could fall - I'm in that red "13.9" range along the coast and the little ladybugs couldn't be happier! Good thing I'm well stocked 'cuz the kitchen is gonna be humming tomorrow while they're out romping in the snow - I'll be making comfort foods all day long for our housebound quartet: pancakes and popovers in the morning, hot paninis and fresh baked cookies in the afternoon, and for dinner cheese fondue and a delicious butternut squash soup! Wahoo - snow day snow day snow day!!

Ahhhh there's nothing better than being snowed in...than being snowed in WITH good food! Hope you guys enjoed your snow day. Right now we are on a 2hr delay this morning...I'm hoping that gets changed to school's closed for the day! We only got about 4 inches though during the night. Keeping my fingers crossed!

We have snow this morning too. But, same as Kerri, only a 2 hour delay. (Kerri and I actually live in the same area).

I'm still excited though for the boys to have some snow play time this morning. I'm gonna make waffles and sausage for breakfast. And, then I plan to do a bunch of baking the rest of the day.

Enjoy your day!

Oh I am so envious, Sloan. . .I think all of us could use a snow day to chase away the January blahs at least for a day!

Thanks for your kind words, isn't it amazing how attached your kids become to someone elses dog?

Have a great day and do you do take out?

Hope you are enjoying the fun of snow!!! I am so like you ... I could hardly even think while grocery shopping I wanted to make so many wonderful things!!
We've had fun, but I will say, we're ready to be out and about again. I do wish it would have snowed during the day. It was a little strange having it start so late at night and then just having it "be" there ever since. Something was lost in that, I think:), but never fear, we've maximized our time hunkered down and I know I will yearn for these days much quicker than I grew tired of them!!
Enjoy!

Thanks for the inspiration.
