This is now the second time I've modified the 10 on 10 photo project to accommodate my "better late than never" attitude ... oh well, marching to my own drum I guess! One of these days, I'm resolved to get it right and link up. on the 10th. with 10 photos ...
But until then, I give you this ... 12 snow-day photos from the 12th - our wonderfully peaceful, blissfully lazy day off due to a good ole' fashioned New England Nor'Easter that packed quite a punch ...
first order of business: peek out the side door to check out the morning
Yup, it's snowing alright - next up: pancakes ...
followed by a quick romp in the snow ...

how about popovers for lunch? why not, it's a snow day ...
meantime, the snow has stopped falling - time to come out of the house, mom ...

(do you recognize the Manbug's sailboat? It sleeps next to the garage all winter long ...)
Ok, mom's getting cold ... time to make candied pecans - yum!
Now let's try to drive over to the park before the sun sets - there's sledding to be done!
Coming home at dusk, we passed by a streetlight that cast the most beautiful color onto the snow-covered trees - see for yourself ...

And there you have it ... 12 pictures from the 12th of January.
A kind of 10 on 10 - ladybug style ...

Love your photos Sloan! We have similar taste in photography I think! Wasn't it a beautiful blue sky today! And I've also missed the 10 on 10 a couple of times. Let's remind each other next month!
I've seen a couple different 12 on 12's this month...so I think it's the new thing!;)
Your pictures are great! The sky is so blue in your last pic. You guys got lots more snow than we did. I've never made popovers before...but they look fun! What's in them?!
Mmmm. Candied pecans. Do you have a recipe for that? I love your pictures. It seems everyone who blogs is also such a talented photographer!
The snow is beautiful. We only got about 3 or 4 inches in our area. I'm ready for a really BIG snowfall! We've gotta have at least one a year! I'm guessing you might get more than just one really big snowfall a year. :)
Thanks for sharing!
I have to admit that I am just a little bit jealous of all that snow. . .we only have a few inches on the ground and if its gonna be winter there should be lots of snow!
Sounds like a wonderful day off of school...all that yummy food, maybe you can come here for our next snow day!
That's the way to do a snow day, Sloan! You're my idol!
How I miss snow days and the joy that comes with them. For some reason, we never have "sun days." Do you feel bad for me?
Ok Skywalker. . .I realize I could just email you, but I have yet to figure out where that little button that all the other "techy" bloggers use to email me is. . .
But, as to the cool parent thing, it is way easier to be the cool parent with boys. . .my ten year old daughter DOES not think I am cool and pretty much tries to stay away from me as much as possible.
So, while boys may fart at the table (yes, Jake did this last night and didn't even flinch). . .but aside from never being able to teach them manners, they are just easier!
So, while I wish I could send the force your way. . .I have nothing!
LOVE these gorgeous photos. Wow. That is a TON of snow. I can't even imagine. We get an inch and we get excited down here. haha. Enjoy!
Wow. That's alotta snow.
