what i should have been most excited for ...

ah, hindsight ...
it's so clear, isn't it?
i was focused on the wrong thing all week long ...

we, as in the collective "we"
- the all of new england "we"-
had spent literally days upon days
focused on the hometown team's super bowl appearance ...

we had a friday pep rally at school ...
and special cheers at saturday skating ...

we face painted ...
we nail painted ...

and by the time super bowl sunday rolled around,
we were fully decked in Pats gear ...
all of us ...

game day was here at last ...

but as we all know by now ...
it wasn't our night ...
and it hurt oh so much ...
doubly so, since we had been hoping to right the wrongs
of the very same 2008 super bowl matchup.

tears were shed ...
little ladybug doesn't take disappointment well.

heads were hung low ...
moods were soured ...
the party we were at went quiet and emptied out fast.

and this was one of the most difficult monday mornings we've had in a while ...
exhausted from the later-than-late bedtime,
disappointed by the loss,
it was tough to find the daily positives that we've been working on at the breakfast table ...

but eventually we found them ...
wonders never cease ...

little ladybug?
her monday school schedule includes art class

big ladybug?
she was having a good hair day today

and me?
I had two -
first of all, kerri's buffalo chicken dip was a big hit at the party last night ...
yum - thank you, kerri!
and secondly,
the halftime show at the game??!
left me literally speechless ...
it was a.m.a.z.i.n.g ...
and that's what I should have been focused on all week long ...

sorry about the loss. . .Jake ate some crow at his party, since he had rubbed it in all to well when the Packers lost!!

And the half-time show was FAB!! The best in a really long time!

Sorry about the loss...I had to google who won this morning because I didn't quite make it to the end! (Too many snacks and drinks did me in!)

Glad the dip was a hit! Eric was excited that I made it too. But, I tried to save 50 cents and bought a hot sauce that was on sale. The dip was so darn HOT we could only have a little bit! (and we like it hot!) I got the sauce back out and it said HOTTER than HOT on the jar! Ooops!
Love all your pics! I think it's great you guys still found positive things to focus on this morning. You guys rock!

I was rooting for the pats just for you guys. Sad it ended that way. At least here the game was over at 8 pm. And Madonna can still rock the house. Best halftime ever! And Ferris. Yes. Don't forget Ferris.

53 yrs! I like that she makes me feel young : ) Sorry about your loss. We were busy driving home from a soccer tourney, but I heard it was a great game nevertheless.

Sorry for the Patriots loss, and that you guys were really bummed out about it. :( I was thinking of you during the game. The commercials were good. I have to admit I was like, Oh not Madonna....but she blew my socks off! We made the buffalo chicken dip as well. We love that stuff. Have a good week friend.

Totally loved the halftime show too. We aren't fans of either team, but we wanted your team to win. Sorry!
