It would appear that January is not going to be the quiet dull month I had hoped for ... my 7th grader has a homework load that keeps her working late late late ... Manbug's feeling stress with his work too, office politics are especially volatile right now ... even the little ladybug is feeling an extra load as she learns to juggle her schoolwork with her extras ...
See the math homework peeking out from underneath that Girl Scout cookie order sheet? After she totaled the orders and finished the math sheet, she still had weekly spelling-word sentences and a Spanish vocab quiz to study for ... sheesh! Was I ever juggling that much at age ten?!
With everyone feeling the squeeze, is it any wonder that my desk piles have gotten so out of control that there are now overflow piles that reside on the floor ...
It's a sad state of affairs. Manbug is not pleased ... heck, I am not pleased ... but I've vowed to take back control this weekend. Seriously, I'm locking myself in and beating down the piles. And it's gonna feel sooooooo good! Sad to admit, but I'm actually super excited about it ....

But I have to say ... and it's really true ... that in spite of all that we've each got on our plates right now, I think that my newly adapted resolution to have us all start each day with a positive thought has been incredibly beneficial - like yoga for the soul ...
This morning's positive thought was easy ... it's big ladybug's half birthday today!
Fast forward 20 seconds ...
Here's another positive thought ...
I mean, seriously, how does this dog keep getting cuter?!
{thankful for}
1. my amazing half-birthday girl ♥
2. girl scout cookies
3. sunny skies
4. getting the jcrew puffer coat i've been wanting for half price (woot!)

Sloan, Thank you for revealing your piles. It makes me breath easier when I look at mine. And all I could see in your picture was the popcorn. It is our go to snack during stressful homework hours. Love your home, thanks for sharing it with us. I know how hard it is when hubs is stressed at work. Here's hoping it all settles down soon.

I have piles too that just keep getting higher. My desk is really bad right now, the laundry room, even my dresser. They drive me crazy, but for some reason I just keep letting it go! Must be the winter blahs!
I've been looking at the 1/2 price puffer jacket from Lands End for days...maybe I need to check out jcrew!
Hope things calm down for your husband...it's never a good time when husband's are stressed at work.
You should pin your little guy...I think he would be a big hit!
I can't imagine that sort of homework load for kids. Stresses me out to think about Boyd's future. I'm sorry your husband is stressed at work, and January is sort of a mess. Kevin came home from work last night, and I knew something was up. Let's just say a bitchy coworker that makes everyone mad got Kevin yesterday, and instead of walking away, he "politely" told her she was out of line, etc, etc. Things like that sort of stress me out, but I'm glad he stands his ground. Work can really stink at times! Anyway, your piles resemble some around my house too, but I'm using the shredder today! :) Love your puppy picture. Happy half birthday to your girl. xo.
Hiya Sloan! I love seeing your papers overflow to the floor...I guess I am not the only one!! Keep on it and you will get it done! Maybe break out some new file folders and go crazy with printing some labels! I am sorry to hear about the crazy stress..hate it! Love your pics and just know that I am thinking about you! hugs, cathy
I am not being nearly as productive as I envisioned this January. My nativity set is still out!
Umm... ok my frist comment was going to be I do not miss doing home work, my second comment was going to be how nice your pictures are, but holy third comment, I love you puppy. I too have a black pug, and when I see others, my heart melts for them as well. Sorry totally random!
I feel your pain. All of it. Except the cookies. That's one thing we don't have on our plate. Thank goodness! There is a house in our neighborhood selling cookies. I NEED to get over there to get a photo for you. You will love it. Hope it's still going on.
I have piles too. Lots and lots of piles. I just try not to look. Works for me. ;)
And your puppy is a.dorable! Awesome photo of her!!
